I do note that it tells me some games can only run of external HDD, so I may try this tack next. and have checked out a link or two but can't see that the game in question is on the black screen list. The only other thing I tried was deleting any game data installed by the Blu-Ray copy of the game, then deleting the backup I made, and finally rinstalling the game again to internal HDD. Does anyone know of any other settings etc I can try?

My TV tells me the res is switching to 720p, but then hangs at a black screen. No matter what settings I try the game hangs at black screen. Sorry for the double post, but I'm having trouble finding info on any of the various forums devoted to this subject, so any help / redirection is greatly appreciated.
